Guys I am finding my way around multiverse bit by bit. Its clear to me to build what I want in here I am going to need to change a fair bit. Yet I am finding it difficult to see so far how if it is possible to use the API or whether it is going to need to be at lower level. The motivation for the question is purely about productivity.

For instance one of the things I am going to need to do is build in ranged attacks, bows and spears, so I look with interest at Tritans post related to that https://multiverse.forumotion.co.uk/t55-fps-style-combat and Delurin talks about ability.setActivationCost(30) and effect.setDuration(15000) etc

Yet I can find no documentation pointing to classes with either of these names or these properties.

Andy

Hey Andy,

I personally didn't look much further into it, as I was distracted by the Foundation side of things at the time.

However, upon checking the API documentation, I did find the classes that you mentioned in the abilities section - http://update.multiverse.net/doc/server/api/multiverse/mars/abilities (Check the Combat and Effect parts)

I hope that helps Smile

Ok got them thnks for pointing that out - The reason I had not found them I think was my perception of MARS.

I had thought it was a set of classes and properties devised for use with a specific Game: Mars

I had and not realised it was a part of the engine itself but although off topic slightly this then leads me to ask:
What is MARS?

Originally, I thought it was a game as well, but someone pointed out that it was some kind of open source API made by Multiverse.

MARS stands for Multiverse Agnostic Rules System, apparently.

Here's the Wiki entry http://www.multiversemmo.com/wiki/MARS
