I've built an "unofficial" version of the developer tools that incorporates a few recent bugfixes from the source repository. It's available here:

You should back up your asset repository just to be safe and things will be much less confusing if you uninstall previous versions of the tools. I've been using them on my machine and they seem to work well (and crash less often). Let me know if you find any glitches or can make the tools crash/die/misbehave in any way.
