| yes sadly it is. The OpenCog project and community is still active though opencog.org. Maybe we can make a request if they still have the whole code? In any way, it's kind of a motivation. Inspiring.. don't you think? | |

| Yes, I knew it was out there.. since OpenCog is a big OS community seems they are now porting Embodiment to Unity. *OF COURSE* changing times eh | |

| I havent taken the time to investigate on this project closely.
what exactly is embodiment?
from a glance i understood is an AI system like scripting mobs behavior?
or is it an actual game project? since you mentioned now they moving to unity, if so, what server backend are they using. smartfox?
i really need to read on this, :-)
it is just that am still overwhelmed with MV wiki, too much reading, lol
this is another part i like about MV, way too much documentation, which is great.

| Yes, you're exactly right. It's an AI and Behavior component (application) to control an avatar/mob (virtual world) or robot (real world) where opencog is the framework. I think it is an almost AI complete system. They have created this virtual pet system demo with MV for the project some years ago, which I think can also be applied or modified to standard MOBs or NPCs. Available physiological needshunger (hungry) thirsty (thirsty) poo urgency (poo) pee urgency (pee) Available emotionshappiness (happy) fear (fearful) pride (proud) love (loving) hate (hateful) anger (angry) gratitude (grateful) excitement (excited) Available Spatial relationsin front of below above behind beside inside near beside far inside outside on the left of on the right of + Yes/No questions + Discursive questions - Quote :
- Embodiment is a system of components for OpenCog that are designed to control an avatar, although that avatar may be in a virtual world or a robot in the real world. The Embodiment system uses a proxy to connect to the world where the agent's body lives. The proxy provides an interface for collecting perceptions from the world and for commanding the agent's body through action plans.
I just glanced their docs, I guess the backend for opencog is a linux system preferably: http://wiki.opencog.org/w/CogBuntuThe instructions on installing cogbuntu and MV are all in there. Lots of very technical docs in their wiki. This is a huge component addition when creating MV games/application. I'm glad they have considered and made the port a couple of years ago. Great great potential *whew* More Info: http://wiki.opencog.org/w/Embodiment | |

| The opencog server is separate, in this old MV port they are using cogbuntu. Not sure about Unity though | |

| I think that system will come very handy for the pet system on MV.
I wonder if their MV project repo work out of the box with this actual MV we are using, without doing too much hair pulling and voodu mumble jumble magic to merge it and get it to work
Have you already tried it?
