PostSubject: Demo World Available - New York Times Square   Sat 11 Aug - 8:35

All,

The New York Times Square demo world has been setup on the Foundation demo servers. (Thank you to Vanquish VPS for the hardware!).

Fire up your default client and login as guest guest. Change the world to "New York Times Square".

Let me know if you have any problems. It took me most of the day today to get everything squared away.

Thanks,

PostSubject: First Login Error   Sat 11 Aug - 11:08

The first time logging in I did get a "... not set to an instance of an object" error.

I assumed it was because I was using my client build.

I just now logged back in with my modded client and no problem.

My location is MD/DC, Box is WinXP with an Nvidia Geforce GT220 and I was getting 20-30 fps.

Note: If people have it set up for local connect they might have to move world_settings.xml
out of \Multiverse World Browser\Config or the client will go looking locally for the server.

Cheers

PostSubject: Character name list   Sat 11 Aug - 15:58

@SnakeMaster

Is that character name "Namoros" ?

That is the name I created for a second character tonight.
A char name my son uses in a couple of games.

@Shane I thought I had your "asdf" in my character name list when I first logged in!

Why are other's names showing in our char creation screen?

Hmmm...

Because there is only 1 login created.. everyone shares characters. We do not have an efficient login creation system running yet. So that is why its guest guest. Once I get a login creation system running then you can have unique logins and thus unique characters

PostSubject: WhiteOut   Fri 17 Aug - 12:27

Hi there-

Finally got connected up with the demo- Oddly, I can't see anything. All the 3D content is whited out. The character selection screen is OK, but once I'm "in the world" It's all blank. The UI is there, I can see my chat and the other 2D items, but no 3D.

Standalone works fine, Haven't tested logging into my local server.

Running Windows 7 64 bit with an Intel integrated video chipset (DELL Latitude laptop).

Runs fine on my ATI video chipset on the other laptop tho.

EDIT:
Sampleworld works fine locally- Perhaps it's an issue with my GPU and the textures / materials used by NYC? Not sure.

Thats odd. I haven't heard of that happening. Did all the assets download correctly? Check your multiverse video config run multiverseclient.exe --config
