Connecting the client to a server which is not localhost Empty
PostSubject: Connecting the client to a server which is not localhost   Connecting the client to a server which is not localhost EmptySun 8 Apr - 6:58

I have set up a dedicated ubuntu server running multiverse server, and everything seems to be working ok. I have set up the server in my home network and assigned the address 192.168.0.100. Now I wonder if there is an easy way to connect the client to this server.

When I check the logs, it seems the client is trying to log in to a server with the address 209.105.244.194, which I assume is the old public multiverse server (I know this is no longer operational), but I can't find where this is actually set.

The client I'm using is built from surce using the trunk in the SVN. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried searching the wiki and checking the various config files but haven't found anything yet. Seems most information is related to either the old public server or running on a localhost.

ok I found where to look. The default constants are found in the client.cs in the constants region. Seem I have to set up a web server as well before I'll be able to log on to my multiverse server.

from what I'm seeing though, you can define almost everything as arguements on the commandline when starting the multiverse client........
I knw scfischer went into my server to work on the master server...............and it simply WILL NOT run, unless that is, I give it the name of the properties file as an arguement on the commandline

Thanks,

I wasn't aware of that. I guess I should have started with compiled client and get everything to work properly with that and the servers before I started modifying the source code. I currently working on setting up the master server myself right now, so hopefully I will have everything up and be able to connect to the server by the end of the week.
