multiverse won't start - just get's stuck? Empty
PostSubject: multiverse won't start - just get's stuck?   multiverse won't start - just get's stuck? EmptyFri 22 Jun - 8:54

So, I'm trying to get the server set up and a client connected - but I'm having a spot of trouble.

Here's what I'm running:
windows 7 x64 Enterprise edition (6.1.7601)

I've got Java 7 installed,
multiverse client
multiverse server
multiverse tools

All folders are default locations and names as specified by the tutorial.

I've set up the server as recommended, checked the table (tells me there are 5 rows) in the DB.
I've forwarded ports on my router & turned of my firewall.

I've added the connector and edited the multiverse.properties file with the correct location.

I've done everything, as far as I can tell, as requested by the tutorial.

However, when I type: start-multiverse.bat I get this...

DEFAULT_MV_PROPERTYFILE is multiverse.properties
MV_HOME is ..
ENABLE_MGMT is false

It never goes any further than this. Why? What am I missing?

The multiverse.properties has this:
multiverse.proxyserver=:same
multiverse.proxyport=5050

I've tried removing the ":" and changing "same" to my ipaddress. Nothing is working.

I've also noticed that if I run the command: performinjection.bat

C:\multiverse\bin>performinjection.bat

Starting batch injection of marshalling methods ...
DEFAULT_MV_PROPERTYFILE is multiverse.properties

This comes out...

Please, someone give me a hand.

Regards,

Rich.

So I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it all.

Now when I get to the step: start-multiverse.bat - I get this:

Are you using the server zip from Sourceforge or the one from the source tree?

Check the .out files in multiverse\logs\sampleworld for any ERROR or Exception lines. My guess is that there was some problem connecting to the database, that's the most common thing.

Hi,

I'm using the one from sourceforge.

Yeah it does look like it.

There are no space or special chars in the filepath, either.
