Whew! So I got past my server problems and that's all sorted out with no errors, but now I can't quite get the client working.
I'm trying to connect to my server on the same machine as the server by using the "MultiverseClient.exe --development --world localhost" command, as recommended. After a few seconds the MV client pops up and shows this. For some reason it seems the demo world isn't available and the login button does nothing. Is guest/guest supposed to work by default or do I have to setup an account to use somewhere?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

For some reason the --development command line argument doesn't seem to work for some people. This is most likely a bug that I'll have to squash.
The demo world hasn't been running for some time. Hence the notice.

So would my best option be to just run a master server and try to connect from another machine?

For now yes.
A lot of people can run the --development and localhost option just fine. Others have a lot of problems. I haven't identified what specifically causes it to not work.
But the work around would be the a master server setup.

Could you link me to the files for the Master Server, the link in the wiki seems to go to an svn of many different things. Unless I'm just not seeing things correctly since I'm not really used to svns. I've never even really used Linux that much even though luckily the computer I was using for the server also has Linux on it, lol.

Hi L-MG,
Did you try changing from localhost to sampleworld?
--world sampleworld

The master server files are included in the MultiverseComplete download.

The --sampleworld parameter instead of --localhost still produces the same problem, I'll try running a master server and see how that goes.

The machine I'm using for the server/client is running Windows XP Professional.

32 bit Windows XP Professional, my next post might be a little while since I have my finals and I'm still trying to figure out Linux enough to even install things.

What linux distro are you using?
If you're using ubuntu which I find a good starting ground for people who don't know linux then you can install things using the Ubuntu Software Center...if it is not available in the USC most sites will give you insstructions on how they want there application to be installed
