| Could the dev team create a Linux install package for the server application?
This will allow users to use "apt-get multiverseserver" directly, which the module could start, stop, and monitor. The installation script does not need to cover the entire set up initially but would simply download the necessary files and unzip them into a set directory, such as "/usr/multiverse," and updating old files
In addition, the Multiverse Webmin module can run the apt-get directly to set up the initial installation or update the server at any time.
I will try to work on a quick screen design of what the module should look like.

| This is a great idea. The best way to mitigate Multiverse's complexity, imho, is by creating really good tools. You could spend years "reorganizing" the "server hierarchy" as another post mentioned. A lot less time and effort involved in writing some good install and monitoring tools. Almost any good tool or system out there hides it's complexity beneath an intuitive interface. Can't help much with Perl though, have mah hands full as it is. Happy Holidays |

| Ok, creating the base module was relatively easy and now that I have the base done, updating it is as easy as creating a new tar and uploading it to the same URL. Obviously the module does nothing at the moment but I wanted to make sure I could do it. If you have Webmin installed and want to play around with the module you can grab it directly from my URL: http://dev.lrhobbies.com/testmodules/multiversemanager/multiversemanager.wbm.gzI am going to research some of the core Webmin UI functions that are available and try to mock up a few tables for both monitoring and downloading the server files. | |

| I seem to be having a problem getting Webmin core modules and functions to work the way I need them to; however, I am sure it is my fault somewhere as my perl is weak. I will keep working on this.
I am going to take this path to get my server installed so I will keep everyone updated with my progress (successful progress I hope). In the mean time I will keep the link open and whenever I make progress, I will upload the new version for anyone else that would like to use it.
One thing I may do is to not use the Webmin built in functions but create my own Perl (or maybe javascript) functions, which would make the whole thing portable to other environments not using Webmin. We'll see how it goes.

| I realize it has been almost exactly a year but I am going to resurrect this thought. Originally, I went into this by myself and this year I have a team. Our next meeting is next Friday 1/3/2014 and creating a Webmin module will be one of the tasks we hand out. I will keep posted what we turn up. | |

Sounds great Draxthis, let us know how it goes!

| This task has been assigned to one of our team members. The goal for the initial module is simply to be able to Start, Stop, and check the status of the game servers.
We do have plans to enhance the module as we move forward but we wanted to at least get something started. Once we have a working module I will let everyone know.
