| Hello all, For the past few weeks I have been in contact with several Ogre shader and compositor coder/experts. Since MV uses a similar compositor system, they are willing to take a peek and might somehow provide major improvements. The new effects will be a paid project. This will be the scope: + Depth of Field + SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) + Gamma Correction + HDR/Bloom minor fixes and improvements (optional)
As you may already know, these effects are now a standard and out of the box in all top and AA games, I surely think the MV engine and community will greatly benefit from this huge post processing effect additions. I'm still waiting for their confirmation if this is possible without client source changes, will keep you guys posted. Post here for members who are willing to make a pledge/donation and make it happen Good day!

| nice,
did they quote you for the job already?
that will be nice. one thing we can aim for too is to check in axiom3d forum for someone that may like to help finishing the C# client update to latest axiom, that will help improve rendering quality and specially lightning system since the existing one is bugged.

| Yes, this will be really nice and a big STEP UP in comes to presentation and effects. With the first set of coders, not yet as I'm still providing more details about the engine. I could have the quote within this week and I'm still looking for more help - Quote :

update to latest axiom, that will help improve rendering quality and specially lightning system since the existing one is bugged. THIS will be the next step, would be great if the Axiom core team gets involved

| Update so far: I have a few experts that will be testing and checking the engine. Apparently some of them will be available after Easter or sometime next week so I don't have any pricing yet.. | |

| Yes, demo is way way outdated. The whole engine has a huge potential though, client is just lacking features used today. Physics, better paged terrain, effects, etc.. FPS mode I don't know about this but they have been discussing the client engine/Axiom upgrade here (along with Axiom dev borrillis), and it looks like the latest version supports HydraX and Caelum which is really nice If you follow closely, there was an attempt to upgrade to the latest Axiom or Mogre but no updates or sources posted to continue with the project.. | |

| The client upgrade is a great possibility and can be accomplished if there will be dedicated developers involved. Since there is no voluntary "movement", regular updates or real progress made, the best option is to get this thing crowd funded and just hire qualified developers who can take on this job. | |

| crowd funded will be a tough one. reason is that there is no crowd here, just you and me and delurin, and every other week some other one
so unless a few talented coders join the MV community and donate their time to update the engine or bug fix it, then i say we are in our own with what we got since this is not a realistic or future milestone any time soon

| "Crowd" doesn't necessarily mean only here in mv forum. There are other means to find people to fund it, like the kickstarter campaign or similar funding sites are doing. http://www.gofundme.com/ is another option, without the bank hassles and other requirements. They have the All or Nothing campaign crowd funding, which is perfect for Multiverse. | |
