| All, I've that many people are having quite a challenging time getting started using the Multiverse platform. I definitely agree that it can be difficult. Therefore I am working on two things that I think will help people out. The first is the Multiverse Launcher. This will allow you to easily configure, start, stop, monitor servers, the client, and the dev tools. This will be the beginning of the overall plan to provide a consolidated and integrated toolset for multiverse developers and users. The second is an all in one download that includes the server, client, tools, assets, source code, and offline help/documentation. Below are some very simple screenshots of the launcher. It is very plain and boring looking now but I believe its function we need not flair. I do not have a deliverable time frame for these but I will let everyone know when they are ready for testing. Let me know if you are interested in testing the launcher and the all in one download. Multiverse LauncherAll In One DownloadThanks, Shane | |

| Yes the idea for the client portion is to easily let you connect to the various options. Really it is just putting an interface on top of the command line options that are already built into the client. Making it easier to use. For example you can already connect directly to a particular world using command line options. Some connection options would be;
- Connect to your local server for development purposes.
- Connect to the Foundations Master server
- Connect to a different "custom" Master server run by someone else
- Connect directly to a world that is not running a master server
For the Direct connection you would need to know the server name and port e.g. world.fantasygame.com:5050 So you could advertise on your webpage the connection info to your world server and have people connect to it. Eventually I would like to see it allowing a player to go to your website and click a "Connect" button that would then perform the client launch for the player. Anyway, I'm open to additional ideas, but I would like to make version 1 pretty basic so we can at least overcome the initial challenges people face. Shane | |

| Nice! The Multiverse Control Panel We are starting back on our Flash mobile project, switching gears, so I'll be a little busy but would be glad to test. Basic at first of course. Eventually perhaps: - a JMX server monitoring tab and "ENABLE_MGMT" property check box, button to start jconsole etc.
- Tools to set environment variables
- Tab for launching tools
Whatever you do will be awesome I'm sure!! Thanks Shane |

| This will most certainly allow users, such as me (pure artist), to focus on using MV as a tool in productivity, not a challenge. It will move MV on in the userability stakes without doubt. Excellent work. | |

| As I am only a Artist user, I would offer to test this project. Afterall, if I can use it, anyone can. | |
